CHURCH TEACHING AND BELIEVES
I THE BIBLE
We believe
that all the scriptures both New and Old Testaments are written by the inspiration
of the Holy Spirit. 2Tim 3 : 16 – 17, Luke 24 : 25 – 27. All the Christians
teaching and the attitude of the children of GOD are such that are established
in the Holy Bible.
Therefore,
we believe that in the Bible are written and revealed unto us the will of GOD,
see also 2 Tim 3:14,15 ; 2 Pet. 1:21; John 17:17; Psalms 119:105; through the
Bible we know the way to obtain salvation, and the destruction awaiting sinners
that refuse to repent, and everlasting
joy that is kept for the born again souls.
Lastly, we
believe that all Bible teachings are holy and must be fully accepted unto
everyone that determine to make heaven.
II
ABOUT TRINITY
Mathew
3:16,17; 28;19
If we make
a study on these verses, we would see clearly that; the Biblical proof of
Trinity, how it is been stated, thus;- FATHER, SON & HOLY SPIRIT, though in
three persons but they are one. A typical example of substance that symbolized
this is;- “egg”. Which contain the (i) whitish part (ii) the yellowish part
(iii) and the shell. But upon all these three divisions, egg is still one. So
FATHER, SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT are one, just as we see the demonstration in
the river Jordan, where JESUS had taken HIS baptism in Mathew 3;17, where the
voice represent GOD FATHER, while the SON came out of the river, and the dove
symbolized the HOLY SPIRIT. Amen!
III HOLINESS
Mathew
5:48; 1 Pet. 1:15, 16
The bible
commanded us to be “hating the garment spotted by the flesh in Jude vs. 23’’ through
studying these Bible verses, we would observe that anybody that will enter HIS
glory must be holy. That’s why HE declares such in aforementioned verses thus; ‘be ye holy as your LORD GOD is holy’’ not
only that, HE even opened our face to know that ‘whosoever commit sin is of the
devil, in 1John 3:8. Therefore HE wants us to be holy and commanded us to live
holy. Then if anybody fails to obey HIS command it means the person is not
among the people of HIS.
IV. WATER BAPTISM
Mathew
3:16, 17; 28:19; Mark 16:16
We
also we have belief in HIS word according to that Mk 16:16 ‘HE that believeth
and is baptized, shall be saved, but he that disbelieved shall be damned.’ Due
to this verse, we believe that baptism is one of the Biblical ordinances
authorized by GOD. This teaching is revealed in the New Testament, and every
Christian must obey it, as it was essentially practiced by the believers of the
New Testament immediately they got saved
Some
examples: -
1- The 3,000
people that believed and practiced it through Peter’s preaching on the day
of Pentecost. Acts 2: 37 – 40
2- The
Samaritan who also believed and partakes in it through the preaching of
Evangelist
Philips. Acts 8:12
3- The
twelve people who met Paul in Ephesus. Acts 19:1 – 5
4- Brother
Paul also was one example through Ananias. Acts 9:17 – 19
5-
Likewise the jailer, who jailed Paul and Silas, believed and practiced it with
his household.
Acts 16:30 – 33 and more.
HOW IT MUST BE DONE
1. In
the name of FATHER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT. Mathew 28:19
2. It must be by immersion. Acts 8:36 – 38
3. Finally, it must be practiced only by the
souls that believed and forsook all the filthiness
of the world. Acts 8:37
V. BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST
LK 24 : 49 ; Acts 1 : 8
Baptism
of the HOLY GHOST is a promise of GOD FATHER unto all believers, according the
afore mentioned Bible verses. Therefore all born again souls must ask for its manifestation
in their lives. JESUS CHRIST ordered the Disciples to wait at Jerusalem until
they were filled with the power from above, in that Lk 24 : 49, & Acts 1 :
4. HE says this because he knows the significance of HOLY GHOST possession unto
HIS Disciples. Whenever someone is filled immediately, the evidence of this in
him is the act of speaking in new tongue. And he would be empowered from above automatically,
then he becomes a new person entirely, therefore, through that no powers of
evils can overcome the person, once he’s abiding in the will of GOD and
practicing only what the Bible teaches.
VI REPENTANCE
. 2:37 – 42; 3:19, 2 Cor. 5:17
We essentially believe in the act of
repenting unto GOD which is the first step that must happen in a life that is genuinely
saved. Therefore, act of repentance symbolizes the sorrow of a saved soul which
led him to confess and forsake all sins, and having decision to abstain
completely from those sins by turning to GOD’s will and having fear of HIM so
as to make heaven. 2 Chro. 7:14; Mk. 1 :15, 2 Cor. 7:10.
VII. RESTITUTION
Judges
17 :1,2; Exodus 22:3; Luke 19:8
Restitution is a mark of true repentance as
it has been clearly seen in the aforementioned lines. This is the payment or
restoration of what is stolen or damaged when someone has not got encounter
with salvation. Therefore, our believe is that whenever such a person got
encounter with salvation, anything that cannot gives him a clear conscience
before man and GOD should be dealt with by making restitution of such a thing
without any delay. Lev. 6: 1 – 7, Prov. 28:13; Acts 24:16.
VIII. MARRIAGE
CHRISTIAN
HOLY MATRIMONY – ( one husband and wife)
Gen. 1:21 – 25; 1:28; Mathew 19: 4
– 6, 1 Cor. 7:1,2.
The
Bible enable us to understand how honourable the marriage is been recognized by
GOD HIMSELF right from the Garden of Eden, where GOD has been the joiner of the
first family “Adam and Eve” which HE made as a sample for us to emulate. This
first family has been made a lesson onto the whole universe in the sense that;
GOD has power to make a dozen of wives at a time for Adam so as to meet HIS
ultimate purpose for quick extension of human race, but HE didn’t act like
that, HE only provides a help meet for him. GOD didn’t rush or worry for how
long it will take them to have products that would fill the earth and replenish
it as it’s today. HE preferred HIS fantastic foundation which was planned to be
in process than to rush and have a wrong foundation to be established for man.
RULES GUIDING THE BIBLICAL MARRIAGE
1. Husband will have to leave his home to form
another separate home. Mathew 19:5, Ephe. 5:31
2. No room for separation or divorce in
Christian home. Mathew 19:6; Mark 10:9
3. In a Biblical way of marriage, the pre –
couple candidate must abstain from lust, sin or having inter-course prior their
wedding ordinances. This is what the Bible seriously warns us for in Hebrews
13:4, where the scripture declares that ……. ‘Whores mongers and adulterers
GOD will judge’. May GOD help us to abide in GOD laid constitution for
our family so as to qualify for HIS kingdom in JESUS name?
IX GREAT COMMISSION (Evangelism)
Matt
28 : 18- 20; Mark 16 : 15,16 ; Acts 5 : 42.
After someone has obtained his
genuine salvation, we must be very sure of this, that CHRIST does not save us
and leave us to be idle like that, but HE saved us to seek for the salvation of
others as it is declared in Jude vs. 23, so as to bring them unto CHRIST in
order to be saved. This is the only task been committed unto all Christian that
are genuinely saved and have Heaven in ambition. And inability to obey this
command, it indicate that the person doesn’t have genuine salvation, and it may
hinder someone from been getting to Heaven. That is the reason why the Bible
sternly warns thus; cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness……Matt 25: 30. .Therefore
immediately we’re saved, the next thing GOD is expecting of us is to reach out
for soul winning commitment.
X CHURCH DISCIPLINE
Hebrew 12 : 5-12; 1 Corinth 5 : 1- 13
Definitely
discipline is one of the key that makes the church to stand firm like that of
the Apostles. Whatever is not Biblically supported is definitely needful to be
ignored by all members.
And if there be any member found disobeying
and tarnishing the glory of GOD in his life or the church of GOD must be
sternly subjected to discipline. The level of such a discipline may be based on
the gravity of the offence committed.
That’s why
the Bible admonished unto us in Proverb 3 ; 11 that; ‘’we must not despise the chastening of the
LORD…while verse 12 says...for whom the LORD loveth HE correcteth.
Also 1Timothy
5: 20. Nevertheless, if anybody
now lifted himself higher than the Biblical constituted authority upon which
the church stands, and feels as to do anything any how without the heart of
humility or repentance heart even during the discipline to an offence, either
offence of unfaithfulness or an immorality, what the Bible declares of such a
soul as we believe it- is to allow such a person to leave the church of GOD
instead to cause apostasy that can result in conspiracy among the congregation
which can scatter the fold of CHRIST which HE redeem by HIS precious BLOOD
1corinth 5: 10- 13; 11 John verse 8- 10; Acts 20: 2.
B CHRISTIAN’S
SACRRIFICE
‘’ If the
reward of a child of GOD would be in full when getting to Everlasting there
Biblical Requirement from each Christian
Brother and Sisters to render unto HIM,
as stated thus:-

TITHE
AND OFFERING
Malachi 3:8 – 12; Leviticus 27:30; Mathew
23:23.
Regular payment of tithes and offering is very
essential because it is a GOD’s command. It is GOD’s way of meeting the need of
the ministers in the vineyard. Even not only the ministers but all other church
employees are paid for their feeding allowance through the tithes.
While the offering is used to cater for the
church maintenance and the needy as well.
Therefore, tithes and offering must be paid
from every income of GOD’s children. Genesis 14:19
– 20;
Numbers 18: 20, 21; Deuteronomy 26:12 – 13; 1 Cor. 16:2; Heb. 7: 2 -5.
C} BIBLICAL ORDINACES
i. THE LORD’S SUPPER
Mathew
26:26 – 29; Mark 14: 22 – 25.
This is instituted by our LORD JESUS CHRIST,
before HIS death of which HE made as a sample for all believers to be
practicing. HE commanded all Christians to gather together timely to share the
bread and wine till HE comes back again.
PURPOSE BEHIND IT
1 To make HIS church one fold in one body. 1
Cor. 10:16
2 HE
used it as a covenant for HIS church to break or subdue other evil covenants
one
might ever be involved in before. Luke
22:20; Matt. 16
3. To
establish giant covenant for HIS church. Matt. 11:18
4. It is
for the celebration of CHRIST coming. Luke 22:19
5 For
the blessing of HIS church. 1 Cor. 10:15
ii WASHING DISCIPLES FEET
John 13:1 – 10
Washing of Disciples feet is the
completion ordinance of the first assignment which is ‘holy communion’ if we
properly make a study of that John 13; Peter had not understood the essence of doing
it in verses 6 – 8, there he insisted that CHRIST would not wash his own
feet, but JESUS answered him in that verse 8b that; ‘if I wash thee not, thou has not
part with me’ how great is this statement unto Peter and all believers
that aspire to have part with CHRIST to quickly believe in any utterance of
JESUS and be a partaker. This word is so heavy unto Peter, he quickly
responded. So CHRIST is expecting our response also.
iii PRAYER, PRAISE AND WORSHIP
Jeremiah 33:3; Mathew 7;7 – 11, John 14:13
These three pillars are like a strong
chord that must bind a good Christian with heaven. That is why, Luke
18:1 says:- ‘’we should always pray and not to faint” and likewise 1
Thess. 5:17 says-: ‘’pray without ceasing’’
BENEFITS IN PRAYER
i. Through a holy prayer, we can bind or loose.
Mathew 17:20
ii. The more we pray the more we are current
with heaven. Jeremiah 33:3
iii. Through prayer we would be an overcome over
Satan, world, sin and flesh. Matt. 17:20;
1 John 4:4, 5,4
. Likewise praise and worship are the backbone
for prayer.
For instance; Jehoshaphat prayed
unto GOD because of their enemies “children of Moab and Amon, in 2
Chro. 20:3 – 6. After that, they began to praise and worship HIM in verse
21, 22. And before opened their eyes, their enemies had faced
themselves. Verses 23:24. This shows that praise and worship is an
essential thing that must be done with.
F CHURCH GROUPING SYSTEM
We have our church
grouping system thus:-
a. The youth’s fellowship team
b. Men fellowship team
c. Women fellowship team
d. And the children Group also.
(In
the sense that we might have some leaders among them for perfect leadership,
monitoring and caring)
i YOUTH FELLOWSHIP GROUP
The Bible says
:– Remember
now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days
come not.
Eccl. 12:1
Nowadays,
youths are one of the satanic targets today. And he really has his focus upon
them in order to be destroyed. And if we take glance into the world generally,
we would observe how he’s tirelessly working on this by making them indulge in
sin, secret cults, idolatry, drunkenness etc.
If we
properly examine this bad tiding, we would discover how the cause of such evil
had been the ‘I don’t careerism of many parents and the church of this age.
Many churches have no provision for monitoring and caring of their youths both
spiritual and physically, which makes many of them to pull out and enter into
the world. Nevertheless, because of all these, GOD had given us fore sight
concerning the youth in POWOG ministries to work upon, by having plan for our
youths in the church.
ii MEN FELLOWSHIP UNIT
The
same things applicable with men's case also. Lack of having planned or
programme for the church’s men grouping system has caused uncountable Christian
men to be associating with the worldly societies today, through which satanic
targets have been successful upon them. So the remedy for these type of
problems is to create room for the men team in the church, so as to be in group,
in order to help them have mutual benefit in one accord and Biblical love. Ephesian
4: 2.
So, because of this, GOD has helped Power in
the word church to have provisions for such cases by HIS grace. Amen.
iii WOMEN FELLOWSHIP TEAM
Women play
a major role in the church and home as well. That is why their position cannot
be overlooked by any means either in the church or community. In Luke 8:2 – 3,
there we could see some women having impact in the ministry of our LORD JESUS.
Which shows their excellent usefulness as earlier said. So, it is this
attribute that the devil has discerned in their lives, that’s why he ‘Satan’
has a great focus upon the women to make them as instrument of frustration in
church today. Therefore the solution to this also, is to have room for our
women in the church, so as to be in group. So that it may be easy for the
church to have a better arrangement for them in seminar, retreat and so on. By
so doing, they will not be a weapon in the hand of the devil against the
progress of the gospel.
iv CHILDREN GROUP
According
to the former comments. Likewise the children also, and even more than the
aforementioned reasons is the children’s own case, because they are kids, which
didn’t know anything, and which Satan can easily penetrate and manipulate at
any unexpected time. That’s why the case of the children is even more serious
than the former we have treated. Therefore, there must be proper caring for
Christian’s children for their better future.
THE
REASON WHY WE MUST NOT HANDLE OUR CHILDREN WITH LEVITY
1. They are our tomorrow
2. They don’t know anything, and through that
they can be easily changed for evil.
3. Satanic target upon them is more than the
adults. (Most especially, many churches of the olden time in the advanced
countries like America and many European countries, they are the one which the
news about them and the churches there nowadays are grievous. Satan has gained
an access into the church by disallowing them to train up their children in the
way of the LORD at their early stage, which now results into great lose for the
church at this end time.
4. Most children of the giant ministers of the
Old Testament have been overcome by the devil.
For instance: -
a. Cain became a murderer. Gen. 4:8
b. Lot’s daughters committed immorality with
their father. Gen 19:33 – 36
c. Eli’s children became sons of Belial. 1 Sam.2:12
– 17. And many more like Samuel’s, David’s
children also.
Note: - If
there is no proper caring for children in the church, so exactly will their
lives be.
May GOD help us to accomplish HIS aim by training
up our children
